In my opinion Iceland is the best country in the world for an adventure due to the amazing and diverse number of landscapes located over such a small area.
The Italian Dolomites are one of the most beautiful places in the world! The whole area looks like it was made for the set of a fairy tale movie.
There are so many stunning places in the Dolomites, but these are the best things to do in the Dolomites and the places we wouldn’t miss on a first time trip.
Great things come in small packages, and with the Faroe Islands, those 18 tiny islands, sure do pack a punch when it comes to things to do! The islands are compact and easy to get around, so you can easily see most of the best things to do in the Faroe Islands in one week. You could also easily spend longer there though, as there are some tough, lengthy hikes and with the ever-changing weather you may want to visit a destination more than once.
There are few countries on earth with so many unique landscapes, endless deserted roads, fantastic wildlife viewing and skies filled with a billion stars. Namibia is the epitome of a road trip destination and we’re here to help you plan your perfect Namibia road trip itinerary.
Namibia Road Trip
Planning a road trip to Namibia is no easy feat when there are so many amazing places to add to a Namibia Itinerary. We have already shared our 30 day itinerary for Namibia and now we want to detail a 2 week Namibia Itinerary for the perfect road trip. From sand dunes as big as mountains, to epic wildlife viewing, Namibia is like nowhere else.
Okonjima Nature Reserve is the best place to see Leopards in Namibia. We originally booked two nights at Okonjima during our trip, however we enjoyed the reserve so much we ended up booking an additional three nights. Honestly, it was one of the highlights of our trip to Namibia.
The nature reserve is ideally positioned en-route to Etosha National Park from Windhoek, and makes for a perfect place to start your safari trip in Namibia.
Namibia is our favourite destination to visit in Africa. There’s great game viewing, incredible landscapes and bountiful activities to ensure a varied and exciting trip.
This was our second trip to this amazing country. On our first visit we spent 30 days and travelled from the very south of the country, all the way up to the Caprivi Strip in the far north.
Nestled between Scotland, Norway and Iceland, the Faroe Islands has its own unique distinct personality, but it also shares some qualities in terms of its epic landscapes and raw, natural beauty.
We spent 8 days travelling across Iceland during the heart of winter and trying to take in as much of her ethereal, snow covered beauty as possible!
Whilst I’d like to sit here and tell you this was an easy trip and that everything ran smoothly, this simply isn’t true!
During our road trip, we were stranded in areas numerous times, roads were blocked and extreme, blizzard-like weather conditions hampered our plans. That being said it was an incredible adventure and the only way to see Iceland covered in snow, which in my opinion makes the landscapes even more dramatic!
Iceland is somewhat of a beast and it’s a place where nature reigns supreme. In-between the extreme, and at times challenging weather conditions lies a place of unrivaled beauty, and epic scale. It’s also a place that we’ve visited numerous times and will continue to visit many more.
As a photographer you’re in for a real treat as there’s not many other places that offers the same variety of landscapes as Iceland. There’s volcanoes, seascapes, mountains, glaciers and icebergs to name just a few. If you have time after exploring and photographing this incredible country try to finish off your trip by relaxing in one of the many natural hot springs around the country, you won’t be disappointed!
If you’re planning a photography trip to Iceland make sure you’re flexible with your itinerary and bear in mind you wont be able to get ideal conditions everywhere.
