Experience the best of Rajasthan’s heritage while being pampered like royalty with world class Taj service, and Indian hospitality to match.

The Palace has an interesting history and dates back to 1835. The first building constructed on the site was a residence for the queens favorite handmaiden, Kesar Badaran.

In 1877 the property was converted into a modest, royal hunting lodge, with the main building still being surrounded by thick forest at that time. Then in the early 20th century, the property was expanded into a palace when Maharaja Sawai Mandingh II and his Queen, Gayatri Devi made it their principle residence.

Today the palace has been carefully, and lovingly transformed into a Taj Hotel. The Rajasthan-Heritage of the palace has been preserved, while the rooms and grounds have been opulently enhanced, to make every guest feel like royalty.

The hotel features 78 carefully restored grand luxury rooms and suites, decorated with elegant furnishings, silk draperies and period decor.

Venture from your royal room and you can marvel at the splendor of the hand-carved marble latticework, and sandstone balustrades and cenotaphs; admire the artwork, adorned on the many walls or take a stroll through the exquisite Murgal Gardens, that complement the palaces’ exterior.

A stay at the palace is a lifetime memory to treasure, but if you want to make your stay even more spectacular Taj have thought of everything. While the butlers look after your every need, and make you feel at home within the palace walls, the signature experiences on offer will elevate your stay to the next level.

You can indulge in a spectacular culinary adventure from handcrafted menus, there’s guided heritage walks through the palace grounds, and specially curated treatments at the Jiva Spa. If that’s not enough there’s always the spectacular arrival, where decorated camels, horses and elephants welcome you into the palace, in true Rajasthani style.

A unique casual-dining option at Rambagh Palace, where guests can dine on an old steam train, complete with a recreated Victorian-style station.
